Pre-Sex Checklist: 6 Things Men Must Do Before Having Sex

The week or month-long pursuit, heartfelt conversations, late-night calls and all those electric date nights have turned out well and you're finally ready to take that next step in your relationship with your partner. Pre-Sex Checklist: 6 Things Men Must Do Before Having Sex

The mood is set, adrenaline pumping and all that is left is for you to do is make magic between the sheets.

But before you get to the main act, there might be a few preparations you'd need to make, especially since the lack of them might just cost you and your partner a good time.

You see, whether you'd be doing this for the first time or have already mastered the art of seduction in bed, when it comes to sex, you can never be too careful. Especially in the moments leading up to the act, which is when you must remember to do a few things that will only help you sail the ship smoother.

1. Get Clear Consent

When it comes to consent (giving or taking), go big.

Make sure that your partner is really ready and up for it and has expressed a desire to get down and dirty with you. Because the last thing you want is to make your partner feel uncomfortable.

Try to be on the same page about where you want things to lead and be mindful of what your bae does or doesn't wish to do in bed.

2. Make Sure You're Infection Free

It's important, especially if you've been sexually active, to make sure that you don't have a UTI or any other sexually transmitted disease that might pass on to your date and put both your health at risk.

Which is why, it's best to keep getting yourself tested for any STDs every few months to make sure that your sexual health is never compromised.

3. Keep The Condoms In Reach

Most of the time, when things take momentum in the bedroom, couples let go of using the protection because they either don't have it in the first place or fear that going to get it might cost them a hard-on.

Hence, it's always a good idea to keep the condoms handy or in reach so that when the heat starts to turn up, you don't have to run around to find them. The back pocket of your jeans or simply the side-table is a good place to stack it.

4. Keep Some Lube Handy, Just In Case...

Whether or not you and your SO like to use lube during intercourse, it is a bedside essential that must never be compromised, on the off chance that your woman isn't able to get the waterworks running.

And so, to not lose a night of fun and passion to an unsolicited drought, make sure you have lube ready and stashed before you go in for the kill. Because this is one slope, that is better when slippery.

5. Clean Up Good

And that isn't just limited to your house or your room, but also your body and your person. Before you get ready to get frisky, take a nice, long shower and clean up well.

You're going to be in direct contact with your partner and their body and so, it becomes imperative for you to check your breath, smell nice and indulge with a clean body to leave out any inhibitions. After all, you would neither want to encounter nor present with dirty genitals, would you?

6. Empty That Bladder

Another tip to keep in mind before threading the needle is to take a quick trip to the loo and emptying out the bladder so there is no urgent evacuation in the middle of the act for you two.

Besides, it's a good tip to keep in mind to pee before and after sex to also avoid any chance of contracting a yeast infection.
